GIEL participates in an invited symposium on special educational needs and language learning and instruction
Prof. María Dolores García-Pastor and Prof. Juan Carlos Tordera Yllescas, members of GIEL research group, have recently participated in the invited symposium, organised by the former, on special educational needs and language learning and instruction within the VI International Conference on Psychological, Educational and Health Contexts 2020, which was held on the 25, 26, and 27 November. Their presentations dealt with emotions and non-explicit content processing in stuttering and autistic learners respectively. Other participants in the symposium include Prof. María Carmen Campoy Cubillo (UJI), whose presentation focused on students with visual impairment; Prof. Vicenç Torrens (UNED) with a paper on learners with specific language impairment (SEL); and Prof. Jorge Piqueres Calatayud (IES Alcalans) with a case study about identity and stuttering. The symposium emphasized the relevance of addressing the socio-affective dimension of students with special educational needs in language learning.
